Benzino Net Worth & Career

Benzino was inspired to pursue a career in rap after watching the film Wild Style. He even co-founded two rap groups, the Almighty RSO and Made Men.

He gained prominence, though, after establishing a relationship with the hip-hop publication The Source. He co-founded the journal with David Mays in 1988 while a student at Harvard University.

Benzino has previously collaborated on several albums. In 1996, he collaborated with Wiseguys on the album “In Tha Company of Killaz.” That same year, he collaborated with the Almighty RSO on “Doomsday: Forever RSO.”

In 1999, he recorded the album “Classic Limited Edition” with the rap trio Made Men. His most recent joint album, “No Skits Vol. 1,” was published in 2000 in collaboration with Hangmen 3.

In 2001, Benzino released his debut solo album, titled “The Benzino Project.” He has three solo studio albums to his credit: “Redemption,” “Arch Nemesis,” and “The Antidote.” Since 2003, Benzino has been embroiled in a battle with rapper Eminem.

The two rappers began feuding after Benzino’s The Source magazine gave Eminem’s song “My Name Is” a four-star rating due to his race. Both have since recorded a few diss tracks directed at the other, including “Pull Your Skirt Up” and “Die Another Day.”

Benzino gained popularity during his 2012 appearance on VH1’s reality television series “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” He captured spectators’ interest in the first season with his relationship with Karlie Redd and in the third season with Althea Heart.

During the season’s reunion special episode, Benzino and Althea were involved in a violent brawl with Stevie J and Joseline.

Benzino Net Worth

As of 2022, Benzino net worth is estimated to be $1 million. He has amassed a sizable fortune through The Source and his music and record-producing careers. Benzino must have earned a handsome number by appearing in the reality series Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. However, his actual pay for the season has not been revealed.

Benzino Car Collection

Benzino car collection is impressive. The rapper has everything from a Bentley to a Rolls-Royce, and he’s even been featured on the popular car show, Top Gear. In addition to his impressive car collection, Benzino is known for many other things. The rapper is also known for his feuds with other celebrities, legal troubles, and volatile relationships.

Personal Life

Benzino was previously linked to Karlie Redd, whom he broke up with within the season finale of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

He then began dating Althea Heart. Both starred in 2015 on We TV’s reality show “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars 4.” Zino Antonio Scott Jr. is the couple’s kid.

He was also engaged to Althea Heart, though they were never married. Althea, his previous girlfriend/fiance, later filed a restraining order against him and a paternity action following their separation.

Controversies

Benzino’s feuds and controversies have been widely publicized. In early 2014, he engaged in a very public argument with co-founder and former CEO of The Source magazine, L. Londell McMillan. The duo engaged in a back-and-forth Twitter argument that quickly escalated.

Benzino accused McMillan of not being supportive of The Source’s current staff, to which McMillan responded by calling Benzino “a lying, thieving ex-con.”

His past legal troubles have also tarnished Benzino’s reputation. In 2003, he was convicted of felony assault and battery charges for shooting his nephew, Albert Jones, in the back. Benzino claimed he was acting in self-defence, but the jury disagreed and sentenced him to six to eight years in prison. He served two and a half years of his sentence before being released on probation in 2006.

Beef with Eminem and Other Rappers

In 2002, Benzino began a well-publicized feud with Eminem. Benzino accused Eminem of not being “black enough,” and said that he was a “traitor to his race.” Benzino also accused Eminem of using ghostwriters, which Eminem denied.

The feud began to heat up when Benzino released a diss track directed at Eminem, and Eminem responded with his own diss track. The feud culminated in a physical altercation between the two men at the Boston Hip Hop Summit in 2003.

Benzino’s beef with Eminem is just one example of his many beefs with other rappers over the years. In fact, Benzino has had beef with almost every major game rapper at one point or another. It’s safe to say that Benzino is not one to shy away from a fight.
